Project partners
The consortium is a mixture of technical SMEs and a university from 2 different countries (Sweden and Italy) with each partner bringing specific expertise and knowledge.
Politecnico di Torino will lead the design phase of the technology, utilizing numerical analysis and 3D design optimized for additive manufacturing with bio-polymers that possess strong hygroscopic properties. After fabricating the prototypes, Politecnico di Torino will be responsible for testing the system’s efficiency in the Department of Energy’s laboratory under various scenarios. The system will also be tested in real-world conditions to verify its Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 5.

Politecnico di Torino (PoliTo) is the second largest Italian technical University and the Energy Department “Galileo Ferraris” is responsible for a large part of the research and teaching activity related to the Energy Transition. The PoliTo team involved in ATTRACT has 20+ years experience in the integration of solar technologies in buildings for the deployment of renewable energies, and 5+ years experience in the water harvesting for civil applications.
Sorption Technologies Srl specializes is developing and manufacturing sorption-based technologies for refrigeration and desalination sectors. The company will prototype the technology developed under the ATTRACT framework for testing at Politecnico di Torino. Furthermore, leveraging the company’s expertise, Sorption Technologies will contribute to an optimized design focused on feasible manufacturing of the ATTRACT technology. This includes enhancing long-term reliability, ensuring high material quality, and achieving cost optimization.

Sorption Technologies is an European manufacturing company of adsorption chiller with headquarter in Germany, with a workshop in Poland and R&D facility in Italy. Starting from November 2023 a production plant will be set up a a new location in Mönchengladbach,.
MGS will develop the test campaign in Sweden with the assistance ofthe Solarus. The two partners will be in close contact during the test campaign to validate the experimental results. The completion of the test campaign constitutes a milestone of the project, and the set of experimental results will be collected in datasheets and made available, together with the
prototypes, to the public. MGS will perform to design system layout, boundary conditions, and business model definition.

MG Sustainable is a SME specialized in innovative energy solutions such as Photovoltaic-Thermal (PVT), Concentrated Photovoltaic (CPV), and Concentrated Photovoltaic Thermal (CPVT). MGS has extensive experience in project management at local, national and European levels. MGS operates in the energy sector and is engaged in bringing energy-efficient and non-polluting solutions for developing countries.
Solarus will lead the dissemination and communication activities for the ATTRACT project. It will identify target groups, communication tools and distribution channels and how to use them. The partner will develop all the project visuals and identity to reach the target group. Also, in collaboration with other partners and stakeholders, Solarus will organize seminars, workshops etc.

Solarus Renewables AB has broad experience in development of photovoltaic thermal solar collectors (PVT), managing high-impact projects where it takes responsibility for projects risk management, finance management, innovation strategies, business development, digital marketing, and marketing strategy. Solarus Renewables AB is established with direct or indirect ownership in seven different companies in four countries: Sweden, USA, The Netherlands and South Africa. An eight company is under formation in Cyprus.
